Founded in 2021, Purple Goat Gardens was inspired by the life and work of Sonja Hedlund and Dick Riesling of Apple Pond Farm (Callicoon Center, NY). Their dedication to sustainability, education, community, and justice laid the foundation for all that PGG aspires to be.
Built on the ideals of social and environmental justice, animal welfare, and art and nature as healing forces, we hope Purple Goat Gardens is a place where all people can come to explore, learn, create, and grow. The Purple Goat Garden Experience We are a small sustainable farm in northeast Ohio with free range chickens, "beyond organic" gardens, a herd of dairy and pack/draft goats, a pottery studio, scenic hiking trails, a 9-hole disc golf course, camp sites for reservation, and a few resident happy hippies. Fresh eggs, vegetables, handmade crafts, and souvenir t-shirts are available for purchase. Mark your calendars for our Fall Festival on October 14, 2023!
